Christmas light installation
What does full-service Christmas light installation include?
Custom design, commercial-grade LED lights on custom-cut lines, professional installation with roof-safe clips, timers, free season-long maintenance, January takedown and off-season storage. One all-inclusive price. See how it works.
Do I need to buy or supply the lights?
No. We supply everything and store it between seasons. You never shop for, test or untangle a strand.
When do you install?
Installs run late October through mid-December. We can install early and turn the lights on by timer after Thanksgiving.
When do you take the lights down?
January, scheduled automatically. If you want them up through a specific date, tell us.
Will the lights damage my roof, gutters or siding?
No. We use clips made for shingles, gutters and ridges, never staples, nails or screws. Everything comes off clean.
What if a bulb goes out?
Text or call us and we fix it at no charge, usually within a business day. See maintenance.
What colors can I choose?
Warm white, cool white, red, green, blue, orange, purple, pink and multicolor, in any pattern including alternating pairs and team colors.
Can you wrap my trees or add wreaths and garland?
Permanent lighting
What are permanent Christmas lights?
The same thing as permanent lighting: a hidden roofline system installed once and controlled from your phone. In December it looks like a professional Christmas light install; the rest of the year it does game days, Halloween and everyday accent lighting. See permanent Christmas lights.
What is permanent lighting?
A color-matched aluminum track under the eave holding RGB+W LEDs every 9 inches, controlled from a phone app. Install once, use for holidays, game days and everyday accent lighting. See permanent lighting.
Can you see the track during the day?
Not from the street. It is color-matched to your trim and sits tight under the eave.
How long do they last?
Rated 25+ years, with a 5-year Midwest Holiday Lighting warranty on materials and workmanship.
Who makes the lights?
We are a licensed installer of Orca Smart Lighting, the best permanent lights in the area.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are finished in one day, with the app set up before we leave.
Do HOAs allow permanent lighting?
Nearly always, because the track is hidden by day. We supply specs and photos for architectural review. Read our HOA guide.
Pricing and booking
How much does Christmas light installation cost?
It depends on roofline footage, peaks, trees and greenery. Every quote is custom and all-inclusive. See the cost guide.

Priced per linear foot of roofline with adjustments for complexity, one time, with no annual fees. See the permanent lighting cost guide.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Design visits and quotes are free with no obligation.
When should I book?
September or October for a November install. Early booking locks in your date and the 10% off early-booking discount.
Are there travel fees?
No. We serve a 60-mile radius of Champaign with no travel fees. See service areas.
